From Friendship to Fine Wine
What began as a shared passion between two young oenologists, Kostis and Dimitris, has evolved into Wine Donkey Trail—a journey of exploration, revival, and craftsmanship. Meeting in Athens during our studies, our fascination with winemaking led us to the vineyards of France, where we honed our skills in Bordeaux and Burgundy.
Our paths took us across Europe, with Dimitris gaining experience in Germany and Kostis returning to Greece, driven by a vision to harness the unique terroirs of our homeland.
Reviving the Past, Cultivating the Future
Inspired by the rich heritage of Greek winemaking, Wine Donkey Trail is more than just producing wine; it’s about bringing vineyards back to life and making wines that resonate with modern enthusiasts. Our mission is to guide newcomers through the complexities of grape varieties, showing how terroir influences each sip.
With our first venture in Paros, we took on the challenge of reviving an abandoned vineyard, transforming it into a thriving source of exceptional Monemvasia and Mandilaria grapes. Now, with our high-altitude vineyards in the Peloponnese, we continue exploring the full potential of Greece’s diverse terroirs.
