Our second step on the Wine Donkey Trail is a rosé that looks simple in the glass but carries a lot of quiet work behind it. The grapes come from two vineyards at 800 meters altitude in Manthyrea, a place you probably won’t find on most wine maps, but one that rewards those who look for it.
Here, cool nights and bright days shape fruit with energy, freshness, and a character that is hard to ignore. The altitude does a lot of the talking: grapes with bright, refreshing acidity, vivid red‑fruit aromas, and gentle floral notes.

These vineyards are farmed by Thanasis and his daughter Maria, a father‑daughter team whose work in the field is the backbone of this wine. Sharing their land, their equipment, and their time turned this from a simple sourcing agreement into a real partnership. This rosé is the result of that trust and of a shared belief that this corner of the Peloponnese has something important to say.
A period of cold maceration before pressing, followed by fermentation at low temperatures (15°C), gives us a pale, expressive rosé that keeps its freshness without losing texture.

It is built for the months when the table moves outside and the days stretch well into the evening. You don’t need to know anything about rosé to enjoy this bottle, just a few glasses, some good company, and a moment you feel like stretching out a little longer.
Color: Pale salmon with subtle orange hints.
Aromas: Red fruits such as strawberry, along with stone fruits like peach and apricot, complemented by delicate floral notes.
Palate: Fresh and lively, with a rich texture.
This rosé is a natural fit for summer tables: fresh salads, grilled vegetables, light pasta dishes, seafood, and all the small plates that end up in the middle of the table.
